Maggie Price, PSA

www.MaggiePriceArt.com

Maggie Price has worked in oils, acrylic and watercolor, but when she turned to pastel in the early ’90s, she found her passion, and it’s been her primary medium since then.

She was co-founder and the former editor of The Pastel Journal, a national magazine for pastel artists, and has written over a hundred articles about pastel art and artists. She is the author of the book Painting with Pastels (North Light Books, 2007), and is working on a second pastel instruction book to be released in summer 2011.

She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Signature Member and Distinguished Pastelist of the Pastel Society of New Mexico, Signature Member, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico; a member of the Master Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies and a member of the Salmagundi Club of New York City. She is the President and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Pastel Societies, and serves on the editorial advisory boards of The Pastel Journal and The Artist’s Magazine. Her work was included in Pure Color: The Best of Pastel, edited by Maureen Bloomfield and James Markle, and in A Painter’s Guide to Design and Composition, by Margot Schulzke, both published by North Light Books, and in numerous magazine articles and exhibitions. She teaches U.S. and international workshops in pastel each year.
