Purpose

To encourage the appreciation of pastel art by offering exhibits by the members to the public, promote ethical principles and practices of original pastel art, promote educational programs in the medium of pastel, and to promote camaraderie, cooperation and encouragement among pastel artists.

Society History and Activities

The Arizona Pastel Artists Association was founded by a group of Arizona artists on May 2, 1994 in Phoenix, Arizona and was incorporated in 1997. The Association publishes a monthly newsletter and meets the first Sunday of each month except July at the Paradise Valley Hospital, 3929 E. Bell Road, Phoenix (cafeteria classroom, west of lobby). Besides hosting a judged members Spring show and a judged and juried Fall show, members offer workshops, participate in the Arizona Art Alliance shows, and organize painting trips.
