To focus attention on the “renaissance of pastel” through education and promotion of this beautiful and unique medium.

Society History and Activities

PSEC was founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1994. The society’s membership numbers over 225 accomplished pastelists who work with a high degree of professionalism and are dedicated to the medium of dry pastel. PSEC is a non-profit organization and is a member of the IAPS organization as well as the Pastel Society of America and The Pastel Artists of Canada. As of November 2004, we have signature members.Over our 10 year history, individual PSEC members’ paintings have won many international prizes and appeared in all major art magazine publications.
