Nevada Pastel Society

Purpose

To provide opportunities to pastelists to exhibit and to educate the public, gallery owners and collectors about the merits and proper care of paintings in pastel. To encourage students of all ages in the medium to further their education through sponsoring workshops and demonstrations.

Society History and Activities

The Nevada Pastel Society was founded in 1998 by Barbara Ann Slade and Marilyn Sapienza. The society meets every other month at West Charleston Library in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guest speakers from various disciplines, artists and supporters of the arts, share their knowledge and talents through lectures and demonstrations. Members are given the opportunity to display their work via Non-juried membership shows held throughout the
Las Vegas Valley.
