Purpose

To promote the medium of pastel through education of its members and the general public.

Society History and Activities

The Ozark Pastel Society is a regional pastel group with members primarily from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. The society was organized in 1987 and has grown to the present size of about 50 members.

Members meet monthly at various locations to network, have group activities, and promote painting projects. Programs vary from paint-outs to museum trips and educational programs. A monthly newsletter keeps the members informed of all activities.

OPS sponsors a yearly juried member competition, which for the past two years has been open to all pastelists.
