Purpose

To promote public appreciation of art in soft pastel and to improve the skills of artists who are working in this fine art medium.

Society History and Activities

The Pastel Artists Canada was founded in 1989 by a small group of artists in Ontario. Its membership has since grown to an average of 200 artists nationally. Known previously as Pastel Artists of Ontario, Canada, the name was changed in 2003 to Pastel Artists Canada to reflect our diverse membership. In August 2007 we became a non profit corporation known formally as Pastel Artists.Ca.

PAC issues four newsletters during the year, and operates a very popular web site with galleries of members’ work, activities and subjects of interest to all Pastellists.

We host workshops with national and international instructors, and local Paint-outs and Paint-ins.

PAC Signature status is awarded after acceptance in 3 PAC Open Juried Exhibitions, and the Signature of Master Pastellist (MPAC) is awarded to artists who meet the criteria.

Membership Information

The membership fee is reviewed yearly. At present it is $40 CDN/year for residents, $50 CDN/year for non-residents. For further information regarding membership visit www.pastelartists.ca or contact:
