Purpose

The Pastel Society of San Diego’s purpose is to educate, encourage and support the use of pastel as a medium through lectures and demonstrations.

Society History and Activities

PSSD, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1983. Meetings are open to the public and held on the first Sunday of every other month: February, April, June, August, October and December. Meetings begin at 2:00 p.m. in the community room of the Mission Valley Public Library at 2123 Fenton Parkway (off Friars Road) in San Diego.

Upcoming Events

23rd Annual Open Juried Show, Gallery 21, Spanish Village, April 30-May 15, 2008. Reception will be held on Friday, May 4th from 6-8 p.m. Paintings must be hand-delivered and picked up. Sorry, there are no accommodations for receiving paintings by mail.

Membership Information

The annual membership fee of $25 is due between April 1 and May 31. The annual membership directory is published in June. Members joining after November 1 pay a reduced fee of $15.
