Pastel Society of Southeast Texas

Purpose

To promote the beauty of soft pastel painting and to educate artist and art lovers of southeast Texas of the qualities of soft pastel as a fine art medium through demonstrations, workshops and member exhibitions.

Society History and Activities

The Pastel Society of Southeast Texas is a new organization founded in Houston, Texas by Caroline Ratliff and Eva Schroeder in 2004 and already has a vibrant and growing membership representing the southeast region of Texas and parts of Louisiana.

Our bimonthly meetings are held throughout the Greater Houston area and each includes a demonstration of soft pastel related methods and techniques. We also schedule pastel workshops and member exhibitions to encourage the growth of soft pastel as a fine art medium.

Membership Information

Open to all levels and art patrons. Membership dues: $30
